Varanasi
Oldest City in the World, Still No Live Dating Show
Varanasi has a vibrant singles scene waiting for a proper live dating event
Waitlist signups determine where we announce next.
Varanasi is the world’s oldest living city and it has a BHU campus that sprawls like a small town. Banaras Hindu University is massive, producing graduates in everything from engineering to fine arts. The Lanka and Assi Ghat areas have a student social scene that’s vibrant and surprisingly progressive for a city known as India’s spiritual capital.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. Varanasi has the audience, the comedy infrastructure, and the appetite for live entertainment. This is the show that fills the gap between the apps and the aunty network.
BHU’s student body is enormous and draws from across India. The cultural diversity on campus is real. Add the city’s existing population of young professionals, artists, and the growing tourism industry workforce, and you have a dating pool that’s more interesting than its conservative reputation suggests.
