Grab a seat, Washington shows fill fast
The DC metro area ranks among the highest South Asian population densities in the US, concentrated in Fairfax County, Tysons Corner, and Rockville
The DC metro area has over 100,000 Indian Americans spread across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District itself. Tysons, Fairfax, Herndon, Ashburn on the Virginia side. Rockville and Gaithersburg in Maryland. This is one of the largest and most established South Asian communities in the country, full of government workers, tech professionals, consultants, and policy people who are too busy running the country to figure out how to meet someone.
The show that sells out in New York every few weeks is coming south. Real contestants go on live dates on stage while a packed room watches it unfold. Before and after, the whole crowd mingles. Plenty of DC folks have already taken the Acela to see it in person. Now you won't have to.
But you shouldn't have to take the Acela to find a room full of single South Asians. The NoVA desi scene is massive. Georgetown, GW, UMD, George Mason all feed young professionals into the area. The happy hour circuit in Dupont and Adams Morgan has its regulars, but there's nothing that specifically brings South Asian singles together in a way that actually works.
We've been getting requests from DC since day one. The waitlist is growing fast. When we announce dates, you'll hear about it first if you sign up below. And if you want to be one of the contestants on stage when we bring the show to your city, apply now.
Foggy Bottom to Falls Church, Silver Spring to Reston. Wherever you are in the DMV, this is the show you've been asking for.
The DMV dates like it networks, and that is the problem
The DC metro's South Asian community is the most professionally stacked in the country: Hill staffers, consultants, doctors across three states, engineers up the Silver Line in Tysons and Reston, policy people who can explain sanctions over drinks. The dating scene reflects the culture, which means it runs on credentials and calendars. First dates feel like informational interviews. Everyone is impressive and nobody is having fun.
That is precisely the audience a comedy dating show was built for. You cannot LinkedIn your way through watching two strangers fall for each other on stage, and the mixer afterward gives the most scheduled city in America an unscheduled hour.
What a Garam Masala night in the DMV will look like
A Georgetown grad student and an Ashburn cloud engineer who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while Fairfax aunties, GW undergrads and Rockville professionals vote in real time. Then the mixer, where NoVA finally meets the District without anyone checking a work phone.
DC has been requesting this show since our first month. for first access when we announce, or apply to be a contestant and show the Hill what confident actually looks like.
