University of Bath punches well above its weight for attracting South Asian students, particularly in engineering, management, and the sciences. The campus sits on Claverton Down overlooking one of the most beautiful cities in England, and the students who come here tend to be high achieving and career focused. The South Asian community in Bath is small but affluent, professional, and concentrated enough that a focused event can bring everyone together.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Bath, where the desi community has depth but no dedicated singles programming, this format creates exactly the concentrated energy the city needs.
The challenge with Bath is that it’s a small city with high social expectations. People here are used to nice things. The wine bars, the Georgian architecture, the Roman Baths. A dating event in Bath needs to match that energy without being stuffy. This show threads that needle because the comedy keeps it loose and the format keeps it real.
Bath sits close enough to Bristol that the catchment overlaps, but the two cities have very different vibes. Bath’s desi community tends to be more academic and professional, while Bristol’s is more arts and community driven. Both are valid audiences, but they’re not the same audience.

Bath is beautiful, small and romantically inert
The University of Bath pulls a strong South Asian cohort into a city built for admiring rather than mingling: high social polish, small circles and a night economy aimed at visitors. Desi students and the RUH's medics cycle through years here with a dating life outsourced entirely to Bristol and the apps, in a city that objectively looks like the set of a romance nobody is filming.
One show films it, metaphorically. A live dating format against Georgian stone is the easiest atmosphere win on the UK map.
What a Garam Masala night in Bath looks like
A Bath management masters student and an RUH doctor who have never met, on stage, going on a first date in the most architecturally overqualified venue on tour. Comedian hosts, live votes and a mixer where the walk through the crescents does half the romancing.

No date confirmed yet. Bath is on our UK expansion radar. to be notified first.
Will the show be in English?
Yes. The show runs in English. Bath's South Asian community is predominantly University of Bath students and professional graduates, all highly English-comfortable. The city's Georgian refinement sets a high bar for any event, and the format meets it.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. Bath applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there Indian speed dating in Bath?
Bath's social calendar is heritage-grade and dating-poor: nothing desi, nothing singles-first, everything gorgeous. We add the missing category and borrow the architecture as set dressing.
Where do South Asian singles in Bath actually meet?
University of Bath's engineering and management cohorts, the RUH and Bristol's scene twenty minutes away, which absorbs most of the effort. A Bath room keeps one night in the postcode.
Bath show or just attend Bristol's?
The cities share a scene and twenty minutes of track, so the first booking serves both. Bath's case is atmosphere: no tour stop will look better in the photos.
