Garam Masala Dating is a live comedy dating show. Real South Asian singles go on actual dates in front of a full room. It is funny, warm and chaotic in the best way and nothing like the apps. The NYC show has been selling out for months.
On July 11 we are bringing the show to Komic Karma Entertainment in North Brunswick. This is a room built for Jersey desi singles. You can come to watch, to meet people in the crowd or to apply to be a contestant and get on stage.

Oak Tree Road has everything except a singles night
Edison and Iselin hold the most concentrated South Asian population in the United States, and Oak Tree Road is its main street: two miles of chaat, jewelers, sari shops and banquet halls that host a wedding every weekend. The infrastructure for married desi life is world class here. The infrastructure for getting there is nonexistent. Between the family network, the community's very efficient gossip protocols and a social calendar built entirely around households, single people in the Middlesex desi heartland mostly date in Manhattan or not at all.
Bringing the show here was the most obvious decision we have made. The audience does not need the culture explained. The audience is the culture.
What the Central Jersey show night looks like
The room at Komic Karma in North Brunswick fills with exactly who you would expect: Rutgers grads, pharma and finance commuters, first gen kids whose parents live ten minutes away and do not know they are here. Two local singles go on a real blind date on stage, the crowd reacts in three languages and the mixer after is the rare Central Jersey space where being single is the whole point instead of the problem.
Tickets go fast and the NYC shows sell out weeks ahead, so do not gamble on the door. Grab a seat, or apply to be a contestant and give Oak Tree Road something new to discuss over chaat.

Is there Indian speed dating in Edison or Central Jersey?

Where do desi singles in Edison actually meet?
