The city sits near the Arctic Circle, which means winter days with about four hours of daylight and summer nights where the sun doesn't set. If you're an Indian engineer from Chennai, Oulu is culture shock of the most extreme variety.

The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Oulu, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.
