Portland's South Asian community is concentrated on the west side, anchored by the Intel campus in Hillsboro and the broader tech presence in Beaverton. Indian engineers and their families have been settling in Washington County for years, building a community that includes temples, grocery stores, and a growing restaurant scene along the TV Highway corridor. The community is solid. The social infrastructure for singles is not.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. Portland already loves weird, creative events. A live desi dating show fits right into the city's DNA, and the Intel corridor provides the exact kind of concentrated desi professional community the format is designed for.
If you're South Asian and single in Portland, you know the landscape. The dating pool is smaller than Seattle, the apps recycle the same faces, and the Portland social scene, while charming, doesn't naturally create spaces for the desi community to connect romantically. Coffee shops and bookstores are great for the Portland aesthetic, not great for actually meeting someone with intention.

Portland's desi scene is split by the river and the commute
Portland's South Asian community lives a bridge apart from its own social life. Intel's Hillsboro campuses and the west side tech belt hold the professional mass, Beaverton holds the community infrastructure, and the city's famous nightlife and weirdness live across the river where almost none of them do. The result is a desi scene that is bigger than Portland realizes and lonelier than it should be, swiping through a pool the apps insist is small because everyone's radius stops at the west hills.
One central show pulls both sides across their bridges on the same night, which in Portland terms is a diplomatic achievement.

Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. Portland applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there Indian speed dating in Portland?
Portland has speed dating for climbers, for book lovers and for people who ferment things, but not for desi singles. The west side's Intel corridor alone could fill a room. We plan to prove it.
Where do South Asian singles in Portland actually meet?
Intel's Hillsboro campuses, Nike and the west side tech belt, PSU and OHSU circles and community events in Beaverton. The scene is west of the river and the nightlife is east, which is half the problem right there.
East side or west side venue?
Central, most likely, so the Hillsboro crowd and the inner east side both make it without a bridge crisis. The waitlist zip codes referee, as always.
