Pune has the best ratio of single, educated, interesting people per square kilometer in India. COEP, Symbiosis, Fergusson, MIT Pune, and a dozen other colleges produce graduates who stay because the city is livable, the rent is reasonable (compared to Mumbai), and there’s enough of a social scene to keep things interesting. Koregaon Park on a Saturday night is proof enough.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. Pune has the audience, the comedy infrastructure, and the appetite for live entertainment. This is the show that fills the gap between the apps and the aunty network.
FC Road, JM Road, and the entire Deccan area have been the social heart of student Pune for decades. But as the city expands toward Hinjewadi and Kharadi (where the IT parks are), the social energy gets diluted. People live in Baner, work in Hinjewadi, go out in KP, and somehow never overlap with the same person twice. This show concentrates the scattered crowd.
Pune’s identity as a "pensioners’ city" is ancient history. It’s now one of India’s youngest cities by median age, with a massive influx of workers from across the country. The dating scene suffers from the same problem as Bangalore: everyone’s here, everyone’s single, and nobody knows how to meet outside of work and the apps.

Pune's scattered singles need one room
Pune produces more educated singles per square kilometre than anywhere in India and then scatters them across a geography that never overlaps: living in Baner, working in Hinjewadi, going out in KP, and the same person never appears twice. The college-to-IT pipeline keeps the city permanently young and permanently unintroduced.
One central show collapses the scatter. The room holds COEP nostalgia, Symbiosis polish and Hinjewadi exhaustion all at once, and the mixer sorts the rest.
What a Garam Masala night in Pune looks like
A Symbiosis MBA and a Hinjewadi developer who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while Pune's famously opinionated crowd treats the audience vote like a civic duty. Comedian hosts, live chaos and a KP mixer that respects no curfew it has ever been given.

Questions About Pune Shows
When is Garam Masala Dating coming to Pune?
No date confirmed yet. Pune is on our India expansion radar. to be notified first.
Will the show be in English or Hindi?
The show runs in English. Pune is Marathi at heart but cosmopolitan in its colleges and IT parks. The FC Road, Koregaon Park, and Baner crowd switches between Marathi, Hindi, and English without breaking stride.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. Pune applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there speed dating in Pune?
Pune has student fests, KP's nightlife and a startup event scene, with dating formats appearing and dissolving every season. The city has the youngest median crowd in India and no recurring singles institution. We do recurring.
Where do Pune singles actually meet?
KP and Viman Nagar's bar circuit, college networks that dissolve on graduation and Hinjewadi offices two traffic hours from everyone's social life. The scene has all the ingredients and no kitchen.
Will students or professionals fill the room?
Pune's trick is both: the college crowd and the IT crowd are the same people three years apart. The show's mixed-age room is the city's actual demographic for once.
