Stuttgart
Bosch, Daimler, Porsche. Stuttgart's Desi Engineers Need a Night Out.
Stuttgart has a growing South Asian community of students and professionals contributing to the city's international character
Waitlist signups determine where we announce next.
Stuttgart is automotive Germany, and the automotive industry loves Indian engineers. Bosch's global headquarters is here. Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) is here. Porsche is here. The supply chain of parts manufacturers, tech vendors, and consulting firms around these companies stretches across the region and employs a significant number of Indian professionals. University of Stuttgart's mechanical and electrical engineering programmes feed the pipeline directly. This is a company town, and the companies happen to recruit heavily from India.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Stuttgart, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.
The Indian community clusters in Bad Cannstatt, Vaihingen near the university, and in the suburbs along the S-Bahn lines. There are a few Indian restaurants in the city centre and a growing number of Indian grocery stores, but the social infrastructure is thin. The community events that exist are family oriented. Temple visits, Diwali dinners, Republic Day celebrations. Nothing for singles.
Stuttgart's Kessel (basin) geography means the city feels smaller than it is. The advantage for a show is that everyone's close, even if they don't feel like it. A room full of South Asian singles in Stuttgart would draw from the entire metropolitan area, including Esslingen, Ludwigsburg, and Tubingen. The audience is ready.
