Zurich’s Indian community is built around two pillars: ETH (one of the top technical universities in the world) and the financial sector. Google’s Zurich office is one of its largest outside the US and heavily employs Indian engineers. UBS, Credit Suisse’s successor entity, and the broader banking industry attract South Asian professionals in finance and risk. The result is a small, highly concentrated, very well compensated desi community.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Zurich, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.
Zurich is not known for its nightlife. It’s expensive, quiet after 10pm, and socially conservative by European standards. For South Asian singles, the options are essentially their work colleagues, the apps, or the occasional Diwali event organized by the Indian embassy. This show fills a gap that the city’s culture doesn’t naturally fill.
The ETH campus, the Zurich West tech hub, and the financial district create three distinct pools of South Asian professionals who rarely overlap. Getting them in one room is the whole point.

Zurich's Indian community is elite by construction: ETH researchers, Google engineers at Europe's biggest campus outside Dublin, banking quants and pharma scientists. Swiss social culture is warm eventually and glacial initially, and the desi transplants get impeccable quality of life with a social calendar of lab groups and team lunches.
