Let’s just say it. Brampton is a desi city. Over half the population is South Asian. You can drive from Queen and Main to Bovaird and Hurontario without leaving a Punjabi bubble. The grocery stores, the gurdwaras, the Tim Hortons parking lots full of uncles at 7am. If you grew up here, you don’t need this explained. What you need is a dating event that matches the density of the community.
The show that runs in New York: singles go on dates on stage, comedians host, and the full room mingles before and after. In Brampton, where over half the city is South Asian and everyone’s mom has opinions, the format gives singles a space to meet on their own terms without the aunty network broadcasting every detail.
The weird thing about Brampton is that despite having one of the largest South Asian populations in North America, the social programming for singles is almost nonexistent. Community events are family affairs. The nightlife is either downtown Toronto or a sad Wednesday at a Mississauga lounge. Nobody has built anything that says: here’s a room full of single brown people your age, have fun.
Sheridan College and the proximity to U of T Mississauga bring students into the mix, but the real audience here is the 25 to 35 crowd who grew up in Brampton, maybe moved away for school, and came back because their family is here and the rent is less insane than Toronto. They’re ready for something that isn’t Hinge and isn’t their mom’s WhatsApp group.
The waitlist numbers from Brampton and the GTA are already the highest in Canada. When we announce dates, the waitlist gets first access. Get on it, or apply to be on stage.
Brampton is the desi capital with no desi dating scene
Say it plainly: Brampton is the most South Asian city outside South Asia, and its singles still drive to downtown Toronto to date. The city's entire social architecture serves families: banquet halls booked for weddings a year out, temple and gurdwara calendars, plazas where three generations shop together. A single person's options are the family network operating at full efficiency or total romantic anonymity 45 minutes east.
A Brampton show is the highest-demand, most obvious stop on our Canadian map. The waitlist numbers from the 905 lead the country and it is not close.
What a Garam Masala night in Brampton looks like
Two Brampton singles who have never met, which itself defies the odds, on stage, going on a first date while a room that understands every single reference without translation reacts at full volume. Comedian hosts, live votes and a mixer that will produce more community news than a wedding season.

Questions About Brampton Shows
When is Garam Masala Dating coming to Brampton?
No confirmed date yet. Brampton is part of our GTA expansion for 2026. for first access to tickets.
Will the show be in Brampton or downtown Toronto?
We are planning a Brampton specific event. The community here is large enough to fill its own room without defaulting to downtown.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Applications are open now. Apply early so you are in the casting pool when Brampton dates are confirmed.
Is there Indian speed dating in Brampton?
Brampton has every desi institution on earth except a singles night. Speed dating here means your parents inviting a family over for chai. The show is the alternative the city has been requesting loudly.
Where do Brampton desi singles actually meet?
Sheridan and nearby campuses, Toronto commutes, banquet hall weddings and a community where anonymity was abolished decades ago. Half the city dates downtown specifically to avoid being seen. We are building the night worth being seen at.
Why does the most desi city in Canada need this show?
Because majority-desi and singles-friendly are different things. Brampton's social fabric is built entirely around families, which is beautiful and useless if you are 27 and single. One night flips the script.
