Mississauga’s South Asian population has been booming for over a decade. The Hurontario corridor from Cooksville to Meadowvale is packed with Indian and Pakistani families, and the condo developments along Square One have brought in a wave of young professionals who want to be close to Toronto without paying Toronto prices. The community here is huge, spread out, and weirdly disconnected for how close everyone actually lives.
The show that runs in New York: singles go on dates on stage, comedians host, and the full room mingles before and after. In Mississauga, where the desi population stretches from Cooksville to Meadowvale without a single gathering point, the format gives Sauga its own anchor event instead of always losing its singles to King West on Saturday night.
U of T Mississauga has become a magnet for South Asian students, and Sheridan College adds to the pipeline. But the dating challenge in Mississauga isn’t a numbers problem. There are plenty of single brown people. The problem is there’s nowhere for them to converge. Social life in Sauga defaults to either someone’s condo, a chain restaurant, or the drive to King West for the weekend.
Between Brampton to the north and Toronto to the east, Mississauga sometimes gets treated as a passthrough. But the population density, the demographics, and the sheer number of South Asian singles here make it a standalone city for this show. You don’t need to leave Sauga to find your person. You just need someone to put you in the same room.
Waitlist is open. Mississauga is part of our GTA expansion. Get on it for first access, or apply to be a contestant now.
Mississauga is a destination pretending to be a hallway
Everyone treats Sauga as the space between Toronto and Brampton, including its own residents, and the dating scene suffers for it: the Hurontario corridor from Port Credit to the Brampton border holds one of the continent's densest South Asian populations, UTM and Sheridan feed it students and the young professionals fill the Square One condo towers. And every single one of them dates as if their city does not exist, commuting downtown for events that could happen at home.
A Mississauga show ends the hallway era. The corridor gets its own room, its own cast and a mixer where the drive home is fifteen minutes for everyone.
What a Garam Masala night in Sauga looks like
A UTM alum and a Square One tower consultant who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while the 905's most underestimated desi crowd proves it can out-react downtown. Comedian hosts, live votes and a mixer where Port Credit handles the summer second dates.

Questions About Mississauga Shows
When is Garam Masala Dating coming to Mississauga?
No confirmed date yet. Mississauga is part of our GTA expansion for 2026. for first access to tickets.
Will the show be at Square One or somewhere else in Sauga?
Venue TBD. We want a central location accessible to the Hurontario corridor crowd and the broader Sauga community.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Applications are open now. Apply early to be in the casting pool when Mississauga dates are confirmed.
Is there Indian speed dating in Mississauga?
Sauga's desi singles borrow Toronto's calendar and Brampton's family network and own neither. A Mississauga show gives the Hurontario corridor its own night instead of a commute in either direction.
Where do South Asian singles in Mississauga actually meet?
UTM and Sheridan circles, Square One's orbit, corporate campuses along the 403 and Port Credit patios in summer. The density rivals anywhere in North America. The occasions do not exist. Yet.
How is a Sauga show different from a Brampton or Toronto one?
Different crowd entirely: Sauga skews young professional, condo-dwelling and slightly more mixed than Brampton, with less downtown scene fatigue than Toronto. Each GTA show gets its own cast and its own energy.
