Texas A&M has a massive Indian graduate student population, and if you're one of them, you already know the deal. College Station is not exactly overflowing with social options. You go to Northgate, you go to the rec, you study, you repeat. The desi community on campus is strong and the cultural orgs do good work, but the dating scene is basically a game of musical chairs in a very small room.
The show format from New York works perfectly in isolated college towns: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the audience watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole room mingles. When you're in College Station and the nearest big city is ninety minutes away, an event like this becomes the social highlight of the semester.
The thing about College Station is that it's isolated. The nearest big city is an hour and a half away in any direction. That isolation means the people who are here are really here, and when something good shows up in town, attendance isn't a question. The A&M desi community would pack this show.
We're gauging interest for College Station. and you'll be the first to hear about it. If you want to go on a live date on stage in front of your fellow Aggies, apply to be a contestant below. Gig 'em, or whatever it is you say before a live date.
A&M's Indian grad community is enormous and completely siloed
Texas A&M runs one of the largest Indian graduate populations in the country, spread across engineering, ag sciences and the business school, dense enough that Hindi and Telugu carry across the Zachry lobby. But the silos are ironclad: departments, batches and apartment complexes each run their own social loop, and the isolation, ninety minutes to Houston or Austin, removes every external option. The result is thousands of single desis in three square miles who have functionally never been introduced.
College Station is the purest version of the problem this show solves, which is why the waitlist here grew before we ever mentioned Texas.
What a Garam Masala night in Aggieland looks like
Two Aggies who have never met, a petroleum engineering PhD and a Mays MBA maybe, on stage, going on a first date while a room that treats traditions as a load-bearing structure invents a new one on the spot. Comedian hosts, thunderous votes and a mixer on Northgate that the whole desi campus attends because there is nowhere else to be.
to bring the show to the Brazos Valley, or apply to be a contestant. Gig 'em, obviously.

Questions About College Station Shows
When is Garam Masala Dating coming to College Station?
No date confirmed yet. We are gauging interest through the waitlist. The size of A&M's desi community makes this a strong candidate.
Is this for students or working professionals?
Both. The show attracts singles in their 20s and 30s. Grad students, undergrads, and professionals in the area are all welcome.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. College Station applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there Indian speed dating in College Station?
Aggieland has grad mixers and ISA events, which produce study partners at a 100% rate and dates at approximately zero. A live show with real blind dates is the missing format, and isolated campuses are where it hits hardest.
Where do Texas A&M desi students actually meet?
Zachry's engineering floors, the MSC, Northgate on weekends and apartment complexes that are unofficially Indian graduate housing. Massive pool, zero visibility, one hour and a half from any alternative. Prime conditions for us.
Would Aggies actually volunteer to date on stage?
Aggies invented half the audience participation traditions in Texas. Yes. The volunteer problem in College Station will be too many hands, and we are prepared for that.
