The Hague has one of the largest concentrations of Surinamese Hindustani people in the Netherlands. The Schilderswijk and Transvaal neighbourhoods are the cultural centres, with Hindu temples, Surinamese roti shops, and a community that’s been here for decades. It’s a distinctly Dutch South Asian experience that you won’t find anywhere else in Europe.

The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In The Hague, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.

As the seat of the Dutch government and home to international institutions like the ICC and Europol, The Hague also attracts South Asian professionals in law, diplomacy, and policy. The Leiden University campus is nearby, adding students to the mix. Between the established Hindustani community and the international crowd, the audience spans generations and backgrounds.

The proximity to Amsterdam and Rotterdam means a show in The Hague draws from the entire Randstad. Three million people within a thirty minute train ride. The South Asian concentration in this corridor is the highest in continental Europe.

Waitlist is live. The Hague is a natural fit for the first Dutch show. or apply to be a contestant.

The Hague is the Hindustani diaspora's European capital

The Hague's Surinamese Hindustani community is one of the great diaspora stories: Bhojpuri-rooted culture that crossed two oceans, kept its language and music and built a parallel Dutch life complete with mandirs, radio stations and an annual Milan festival. Its singles inherit five generations of cultural confidence and an introduction system that still runs through families across two continents.

A Hague show is the European anchor of the Hindustani circuit, paired with Paramaribo on the tour map. No other format connects the two capitals of this culture.

What a Garam Masala night in The Hague looks like

Two Hindustani-Dutch singles who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while a community that has waited five generations for exactly this reacts in Dutch, Sarnami and Hindi at once. Comedian hosts, live votes and a mixer where the baras run out before the stories do.
