Galway is Ireland's cultural capital and its medtech hub, and both of those things contribute to a small but spirited South Asian community. NUI Galway (now University of Galway) attracts Indian students in engineering, medicine, and the sciences. Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and the cluster of medical device companies in the Galway region employ Indian engineers and quality professionals. It's a city of 80,000 on the Atlantic coast that somehow has an Indian population worth writing about.
