Geneva’s South Asian community is shaped by the international organizations headquartered here. The UN, WHO, WIPO, and CERN all employ Indian professionals, and the diplomatic community includes Indian mission staff and their families. It’s a small, highly educated, internationally mobile community that struggles with dating because everyone is either about to leave or just arrived.

The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Geneva, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.

EPFL and the University of Geneva add students and researchers. The Indian postdoc and PhD community at CERN alone could probably fill half a room. These are people solving the mysteries of the universe who can’t figure out how to meet someone for dinner. Relatable.

Geneva is beautiful, expensive, and socially glacial. The Swiss reserve is amplified by the international bubble where everyone is on a contract and nobody makes permanent plans. This show creates a moment of genuine connection in a city that makes that surprisingly hard.

Waitlist is open. Geneva and Zurich would likely run as a Swiss pair. or apply to be a contestant.

Geneva's desi professionals are between postings and between everything

Geneva's South Asian community works for the world: UN agencies, WHO, the humanitarian NGOs, CERN's international physics corps and the private banking layer. The city's social fabric is built for the perpetually transient, expat clubs, apéros, farewell parties on rotation, and its desi singles describe the loneliest prosperity in Europe.

The show gives international Geneva's desi crowd one night of local permanence: a room, a format and outcomes that survive the next posting cycle.

What a Garam Masala night in Geneva looks like

A WHO programme officer and a CERN postdoc who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while international Geneva votes with uncharacteristic decisiveness. Comedian hosts, live chaos and a lakeside mixer with the Jet d'Eau showing off behind.
