Madrid’s South Asian community is concentrated around Lavapiés, one of the city’s most multicultural neighbourhoods. The Indian and Bangladeshi populations have established shops, restaurants, and community spaces in the area. It’s smaller than Barcelona’s desi scene but growing, particularly as Madrid’s tech sector attracts more Indian professionals.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Madrid, this format is designed to concentrate the scattered desi community into one room for one night, creating connections that the apps and expat mixers never deliver.
Madrid’s nightlife runs later than anywhere else in Europe. Dinner at 10pm, out until 4am. The social culture is intense and welcoming. For South Asians who sometimes feel like outsiders in European social scenes, Madrid is one of the easier cities to break into. A dedicated show for the desi community amplifies that warmth.
The universities in Madrid attract Indian students, and the corporate headquarters clustered in the capital bring in professionals. The community is a mix of Bangladeshi small business owners, Indian tech workers, and students from across the subcontinent. That diversity within the South Asian spectrum makes for an interesting room.

Madrid's desi singles dissolve into the world's best nightlife
Madrid's paradox for desi singles is generosity: the city's social life is so abundant and so welcoming that the community never needed its own events, and therefore never built any. Lavapiés holds the established South Asian quarter, the Castellana holds the consultants and bankers and IE's campus feeds a steady international desi cohort, all socially thriving and romantically invisible to each other.
The show makes the invisible visible for one night: every desi single in Madrid, one room, before the city's nightlife reabsorbs them as couples.
What a Garam Masala night in Madrid looks like
An IE MBA and a Lavapiés-raised journalist who have never met, on stage, going on a first date while Madrid's desi crowd discovers its own headcount mid-vote. Comedian hosts, live chaos and a La Latina mixer that honours the city's sacred late schedule.

Questions About Madrid Shows
When is Garam Masala Dating coming to Madrid?
No date confirmed yet. Madrid is on our Europe expansion radar. to be notified first.
Will the show be in English?
Yes. The show runs in English, which works because the South Asian professional and student community in Madrid is comfortable in English.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. Madrid applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there Indian speed dating in Madrid?
Madrid's social life is the best in Europe and none of it is desi-specific. Lavapiés' community and the consulting-banking expat crowd both date through generic channels in a city built for nights out.
Where do desi singles in Madrid actually meet?
Lavapiés' South Asian streets, the Castellana's consulting towers, IE's campus orbit and terrazas where the desi crowd dissolves into the general Madrid night. Visibility is the whole problem.
Will the show match Madrid's energy?
Madrid treats every night as a potential festival and the show hands it a reason. Expect the mixer to relocate twice and end at a churrería, as all Madrid stories do.
