Wolverhampton has a significant South Asian population, particularly in areas like Heath Town, Whitmore Reans, and the Penn Fields corridor. The Indian and Pakistani communities are long established, and the Sikh population is one of the largest in the West Midlands. The gurdwaras, the temples, the community centres: the infrastructure is there. What’s missing is social programming for young singles.

The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In Wolverhampton, where the desi community has depth but no dedicated singles programming, this format creates exactly the concentrated energy the city needs.

Wolverhampton sits in the heart of the Black Country and the broader West Midlands corridor. Birmingham is twenty minutes away, Walsall and Dudley are even closer. The catchment area for a show here is huge, drawing from a South Asian population that spans multiple towns and cities that all share the same problem: nothing built specifically for young desi singles.

University of Wolverhampton brings in students, but the real audience here is the established community. Second and third generation British Asians who grew up in Wolves, know the city inside out, and want to meet someone without the full auntie network getting involved.
