The Kansas City desi community is split across two states and about forty suburbs, which makes it feel smaller than it actually is. Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe on the Kansas side. The T-Mobile campus (formerly Sprint) in Overland Park alone has drawn hundreds of Indian tech workers. Add in the broader tech and corporate presence on both sides of the state line, and you've got a real community that just needs a reason to get in the same room.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while the room watches and reacts. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. In a metro split across two states and forty suburbs, this format creates the convergence that KC's desi singles have been missing.
Kansas City is a barbecue town, a jazz town, a football town. What it's not, traditionally, is a live desi dating show town. That's what makes this interesting. The community here is close enough that people will actually show up, but big enough that you won't already know everyone in the room.

Kansas City's South Asian population concentrates in Overland Park and Johnson County on one side and spreads through the Northland and Lee's Summit on the other, with the health tech corridor, the hospital systems and the engineering firms employing most of it. The state line does something subtle and destructive to the social scene: every community event feels regional instead of metro-wide, so the singles never see the full size of their own pool.
A single central show is a census as much as an event. The first time KC's desi singles share one room, the scene stops feeling small forever.
