The Twin Cities desi community is bigger than most people outside Minnesota realize. Target, UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, and the broader Fortune 500 presence in the metro have been pulling Indian professionals to Minneapolis for years. Maple Grove, Plymouth, Eagan, Eden Prairie. The suburbs are dotted with Indian families, temples, and grocery stores. But if you're single and South Asian in the Twin Cities, your options are roughly: apps, the annual Diwali gala, or waiting for your parents to find someone.
The format from New York: real contestants go on live dates on stage while a packed room watches, reacts, and picks favorites. Afterward, the whole crowd mingles. It's the energy of a comedy show combined with the stakes of a first date, and the Minnesota Nice barrier disappears the moment the first contestant walks on stage.

Everyone is friendly, everyone waves, nobody converts a conversation into a date because the local culture treats directness as a misdemeanor. Desi singles here report the most polite loneliness in America.

Will the show be in Minneapolis or the suburbs?
Venue TBD. We are looking at spaces accessible to both the city and the suburban communities in Maple Grove and Plymouth. Waitlist members will be first to know.
Can I apply to be a contestant?
Yes. Apply now. Applications stay active for 12 months. Minneapolis applicants will be prioritized when we confirm a date.
Is there Indian speed dating in Minneapolis?
The Twin Cities have corporate desi affinity groups and community festivals, but singles events are basically absent. Minnesota Nice will chat with you at the co-op forever and never ask for your number. Our format forces the issue, pleasantly.
Where do South Asian singles in the Twin Cities actually meet?
Target, UnitedHealth and Medtronic campuses, UMN circles and Eden Prairie community events. Work is the whole social scene, which is precisely the problem a third-party room solves.
Minneapolis or St Paul?
Minneapolis has the venues and the after-mixer options, but the room will be full of both cities plus the 494 suburb belt. Nobody is checking which side of the river you sleep on.
